Pediatric Chiropractic Care in Tigard, OR
As children grow, their bodies go through rapid physical, emotional, and neurological changes. Learning to walk, experiencing frequent falls, carrying heavy backpacks, playing sports, and even prolonged screen time can place cumulative stress on the spine and nervous system. Chiropractic care helps support balanced posture, coordinated movement, and healthy neurological function during these critical years of growth.
Teenagers, in particular, face unique challenges as they navigate growth spurts, hormonal changes, and increasing demands from school, sports, and extracurricular activities. Long hours spent sitting in class or on devices can contribute to poor posture, back or neck pain, headaches, and fatigue. For student athletes, repetitive strain and injury are common concerns. Chiropractic care can help teens maintain proper spinal alignment, recover more efficiently from sports-related injuries, improve focus and emotional regulation, and optimize overall performance both physically and academically.
Many parents seek chiropractic care for their children and teens to support
Proper spinal alignment during growth spurts
Improved focus, mood, and emotional regulation
Enhanced sleep quality and immune resilience
Better coordination, recovery, and athletic performance
Relief from colic, ear infections, headaches, and digestive issues
Gentle Chiropractic Care for Newborns, Children, & Teens
Pediatric chiropractic care at Body in Balance is designed specifically for the developing bodies and nervous systems of babies, children, and teens. Dr. Hudson uses gentle, age-appropriate techniques tailored to each child. Chiropractic care evaluates the spine for areas of altered joint function, often referred to in chiropractic as subluxations, and uses specific adjustments to influence the sensory input the spine and body provide to the nervous system.
The nervous system is the body’s communication and control system, coordinating how we sense, respond, move, and adapt to the world around us. Because the spine and nervous system are closely connected, our neurologically focused approach places particular emphasis on supporting healthy nervous system function and a child’s capacity for adaptability, resilience, and regulation.
From birth through the teenage years, children experience tremendous growth and change. The birth process, learning to crawl and walk, everyday falls, sports, school demands, and increased time on devices can all place different stresses on a developing body. Our goal is not to treat individual symptoms or conditions, but to identify areas of dysfunction within the spine and provide gentle, individualized chiropractic care that supports the nervous system and the child as a whole.
Dr. Hudson brings extensive training and experience to this specialized area of care. A graduate of Life Chiropractic College West, she focuses on pediatric, adolescent, prenatal, and postnatal chiropractic care. She is Webster Certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), with advanced expertise in optimizing pelvic biomechanics to support safer, more efficient birth outcomes. Dr. Hudson has also completed a 200-hour postgraduate certification through the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP), further refining her clinical expertise in working with infants, children, teenagers, and growing families.
With a neurologically informed approach and a deep understanding of development from birth through adolescence, Dr. Hudson is passionate about helping kids and teens thrive at every stage, supporting not just their physical health but also their resilience, confidence, and overall well-being.
